I finally re-read the article and the original thread, and it
seems like there were really few flames at all in the original
thread. It also seems that he ignored the good suggestions for
common linux myths and used his own, without bothering to check
whether people actually believed the myths or not.

It looks like the voting booth is the same on all articles on the
web site; it's even on the front page. So I'm not sure it's fair
to blame the author of the article for such a stupid poll question.

Believe it or not, I do know people who believe both sides of this
myth (as well as myth #2, linux is by default more secure than
windows).
