Installed SAV ScanEngine for Linux (RPM). Error "Unable to get host IP
address during InitMetaLogger" appears during install, but the script
reports successful installation.
But when I try to access the administrative interface at
http://127.0.0.1:8004 I get "connection refused."
====================================
Checked messages, no reports of any blocking.
Checked firewall added TCP port 8004, just in case.
Checked cfg files. No IP addresses are cited, although it states the
administrative interface binds to all interfaces. I've got the correct
port, 8004.
Checked the various README.TXTs and docs. They say I should have been
prompted for an IP for the admin interface during install and that it
should be different from all other IP addresses. This is for the
mini-http server that is installed to support the admin interface. OTOH,
the doc also cites the install sequence exactly as I experienced and as
is logged, which does NOT have a prompt for any IP address. So their
docs are inconsistent.
Tried specifically assigning a new IP address in the cfg file as
192.168.0.5, which is unique on my system, that didn't help. Any effort
to connect to any local IP results in "connection refused."
Tried going to symantec.com, could not find relief as there is no way to
"Contact Us". So came here.
Needless to say, I have Googled extensively.
TIA, Andy
