With many software wine is fine, but still there is plenty of stuff it
does not support. Same with crossfire.
I would definitely advise one not to rely on these products for
professional purpose. If the required software does not work on Linux
and there is no possible replacement, a dual boot is the way to go. One
could also try VMWare but it's quite expensive.
As for the antivirus, Avast is fine.
