    You're probably seeing everything in your cable company's subnet. (BTW,
    your modem has an IP address. It may or may not be a 10.x address, but
    it probably is.) The size of the subnet can vary from location to
    location and cable carrier to cable carrier. It depends on how they lay
    out their IP space, if they've misconfigured their routers to forward
    broadcasts, and just about anything else.
