Intrusion Detection System SNORT

Hi!

In contexts of my thesis (diploma) i must implement a Intrusion
Detection System of linuxsystem. I selected SNORT as Software. I would
like to install a Hostsensor on a RADIUS Server and a Networksensor on
a switch or Access Point.
Do i need any Hardware as Hostsensor or Networksensor ? or the
installation of SNORT on a management Station is sufficient ?
