No, nothing disappearing from /usr or any system directories, which are all
on another disk that is not shared by NFS nor samba.
As I posted, now I have only one partition using liunxu ext2 and it was
still losing files.
The result of cat /proc/mounts for the disk is
/dev/hdb1 /data ext2 rw 0 0
