Of course not. Some of them (albeit a shrinking percentage, since most
of the really good geeks are already here :) will become contributing
members of the free software community.

Conversely I am not inclined to go to great lengths to help the point-
and-drool crowd as they learn to drip their saliva on GNU/Linux. My
personal focus is to try to work with those who show some potential.
(Or, with paying customers, of course. :)

Oops, I think I may have triggered an advocacy fight. :) Sounds like I
have no respect for computer-illiterates, but that is not true. I do
respect diversity; the fact that some people just want to use computers
as a means to an end. Many of them (my auto mechanic, for one) can do
things I cannot (or do not want to do.) But if they really need a
computer to help in their work, they won't mind paying for expertise. Do
we expect other tradesmen and professionals to work for nothing?
