looking for url with software vulnerabilities

i am looking for a website where you can find the vulnerabilities of various
linux-software. i should be able to show and/or count the known bugs, to
prove that a package can be exploited.
i remember i've encountered one, but i forgot the address. it had a search
engine where you could type the name, then there was a dropdownlist where
you could choose the apropriate version.

any input would be appreciated!
