i want to create a script in c that will do as specified here in
project 'desktop auditor..i dont know where to start off with..help
me.if u have links to some sites with this sort of stuff do share.
project name:desktop auditor
requirements:a script to be run each time sysytem boots and /or a user
logs on.
what will script do?
on system boot
--record sysytem spoecifications like
1 time of boot
2 amount of ram installed
3 internal number of ram(if possible)
4 hdd's model number ,s.no, make,etc.
5 processor's make ,s.no,model ,make,etc.
--specs should be recorded into flat files with proper security .must
store on remote server
--on startup all the above said specs should be recorded into a flat
file named on the bios name of the
machine.(each machine will have separate file)
--after recording the curent specs it should compare the specs with
previous record and if all are same then
the status should be marked as ok otherwise as "mismatched"
--in case a mismatch occurs the manager and network administrator
should be emailed about the change.
on user log on/log off
--record the following specs
1 name of domain user
2 time of log on
3 time of log off
4 status previous to log on.(status
--specs to be stored in flat files with proper security
--files named according to bios name/no
thanks in advance
