I use a Linksys router, the BEFSR41 4 port model. I love it. I've used
it with multiple platforms, wifi access points, hubs, pda's, laptops, etc.
without a problem.

It acts as it's own standalone device and takes the hassle of configuring
your internal systems for intra/internet connectivity. The web based
config ensures that you are not dependant on proprietary software that
only runs on a specific platform, it can even be configured remotely
(though I wouldn't recommend it ;-). It includes alot of options that one
expects to see from a good router, such as DMZ, port forwarding, MAC
spoofing, DHCP, etc. Plus it is a damned good firewall to boot.

I've used this unit with various connections using various connection
schemes; Cable via PPPoE, aDSL via PPPoE, and sDSL via Static. It handles
them all just fine. I would highly recommend Linksys routers to anyone.

NO, I am not affiliated with Linksys in any way :-)
