twofish on Suse 7.3 (kernel 2.4.10-4GB)

Could I have opinions about the stabillty of the twofish-based
filesystem encryption that comes with SuSE 7.3? The "man" for losetup
states that twofish is broken.
Are they alternatives that do not require recompiling the kernel?
