Hello,
I should like to set up a VPN. The situation is this: I have a Linux
server with a fixed address at home and a laptop which I would like to
have full access to the Linux server.
Problem 1: I'll have to use Win2k on the laptop occasionally, so it would
be nice if the VPN solution would work with both Linux and W2k clients.
Problem 2: The laptop is going to spend most of its time behind firewalls
owned by people who are not going to be cooperative about setting things
up.
Right now, I am using SSH tunneling to get at least access to some ports
on the server, but it's just not the same.
What I would need, then, is a VPN that works through a firewall and that
can be used under both Linux and W2k (posibly even other versions of
Windows.
I looked into CIPE, but it would appear that both peers have to be
able to reach each other - which is a problem, since the server has no way
of contacting the laptop.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Juergen
