And more weird things happened yesterday, among other things I can't
upgrade my libc6 any more.
After recompiling the kernel I decided to also upgrade some debian
packages. This worked when I gave dselect the numerical address of the
ftp server. But although dselect says I should upgrade libc6 from
version 2.2.5-3 to 2.2.5-6 this package is always skipped. No "file does
not exist" message or anything as I should usually get. When I look at
the ftp site in Midnight Commander and I can't see any libc6 package
either. With the Win95 PC I can download libc6_2.2.5-6_i386.deb from
Debian's ftp site, however. (But I can't move it to the other PC since
it's more than 3MB and I don't have a program to split it.)
Doesn't have libc6 and associated libraries also have something to to
with name resolution? Coincidence? Paranoia?
