My computer has been rather slow lately. I do a top and notice this line:

PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
    4 root 16 0 0 0 0 SW 52.8 0.0 5:32 kapm-idled

I do a kill -9 4 as root, but it doesn't die. I reboot my computer, and
it's still there, still sucking up 50% CPU. And it doesn't help that I
got a call from my college a few days ago telling me that they think my
computer has been compromised. Can someone offer me some suggestion as to
what to do to kill this program? I'll reinstall this weekend (again,
sigh) because I have a lot of schoolwork right now, but in the meantime,
I'd like to get rid of this process.
