Considering some poor schmoe just got thrown in the clink for
installing distributed.net clients on his company's network (and
rightfully so) I think we can predict the response...it will be
pursued as simple theft even if it does no harm.
Now one of these days someone will manage to attach a profit motive to
distributed computing and if it's properly implemented and can
guarantee additional return on investment it might catch on.
