I doubt that your SSL logs are going to error_log. The errors you show
above are from a client trying to speak SSL to the http port (80) and
the http error log shows Invalid method....
What do (all of) your logs say? Try this, shut down apache and remove
your log files or zero them out (everything in /var/log/httpd/). Start
apache and make one connection attempt using an SSL-enabled client
then look at what is logged in every file in /var/log/httpd.
BTW, this is quickly becoming inappropriate here. Perhaps you should
post your questions to alt.apache.configuration.
