SSL Certificates

I am in the process of starting up a wireless ISP and am curious if it is recommended to purchase an SSL Certificate from a CA. I don't plan on supplying any e-business solutions immediately nor do I plan on billing online right away. Are there other reasons for getting a certified SSL Certificate? I do want to sell the "my site is secure" idea to my customers but on the other hand, would rather not pay more than I have to.

Can anyone give me the pros or cons?
