I use both spybot as well as adaware... what one doesn't find the other one
usually does.
I had IE home page get hijacked recently. Spybot would not find the culprit
but adaware would. It would come up with a dll file in the
\windows\system32 directory... could not fix it, could not delete...
nothing. Reboot the system and run adaware again and the dll file name
would change as the offending file but same results when trying to fix.
Repeated this process for about 3 or 4 reboots and got the same results with
the filename changing each time.
Did a google search (using some key words) and found a couple of free
utilities called 'vx2finder' and 'kill2me'. That fixed my problem. Might
be worth checking into.
good luck
