Please don't advise people to even respond to these ads. The odds are
not good that a random entry of faux personal information could
actually be valid... But if by chance you were to guess right, think
of the problems you've just created for that unsuspecting victim?

I've heard it mentioned in a post (some time ago) about a program that
fills in html forms with false data, very fast, with the intention of
flooding the site. These pseudo-human interfaces, if programmed with
some level of intelligence, could have any number of correct "hits"
while producing their acceptable/believable pages of forms.

There is only one way to deal with the constant e-mail annoiances, in
their ever-changing forms. You have to install a bouncer/doorman.
Let me esplane.

Your e-mail server receives mail for you, from anyone who sends it to
you. So, whoever runs the mail server must put in the door (If this
is not you, good luck getting your ISP to do it if they don't
already).

Then by giving a list of approved addresses/hosts (an Address Book) to
your server admin, you can have the server deliver only those mails
that are from your "OKed" list. To get on the list, you must ask
permission through the server (with an "someone wants on your Address
list" message). Most scam/spam e-mail senders will not look for the
servers reply that tells them they must ask permission, and will
ignore the need to register with you, thereby never getting past the
door.

Myown host (and I'm not spamming here because I don't use their name
in this text ;) has what they call "The Spamminator". It works at
it's High level (there are 2 other levels of protection: Med and Off)
as described above. Med level works as a standard "Known Spam"
eliminator (you can add addresses to this list, but it does filter
lots of junk automatically), while Off does as expected...nothing.

So, let's just ignore these ID10T's like we ignore ports. By never
giving them another thought. Then they will slowly go away and never
bother us again. Remember Mab (of Merlyn's day) was of the old ways,
and the old ways were forgotten and can never harm us again. They are
insignificant and not worth our attention.

Thank you
