Steve,

Did you trade the defective router in at the store where you bought it? Two
failures could mean two routers from the same batch. Did you replace the power
supply with the router?

You might want to consider your power situation too. Do you have a UPS? If
not, get one. Both a router and a UPS cost $50 - $100, and both are excellent
investments. A router protects you from hostile (damaging) network traffic, and
a UPS protects you from hostile (damaging) power traffic.
