Very good points. If you want anonymity, there's a high chance you're
gonna need to give up some functionality of certain websites.
Applets, etc. "run on your machine", meaning, each applet would need to
be recoded (which is NOT possible) to use the proxy you're trying to
use.... it's impossible to recode all applets "on the fly" and make they
go through the proxy... in fact, it may not be possible to get most
applets to even go through the proxy. Anything that runs on the local
machine has the potential to do harm (let alone some things that run on
the server) allowing it to run through an "anonymous proxy" is
dangerous... it's best to block these applets and deal with the problems
associated.
