Most systems (especially laptops) also have a hard drive password that is
set from the BIOS. Enabling this prevents access/booting to the hard drive
without the password.
On the other hand, if your main concern is protecting sensitive data that
is on the drive a better solution would be to use software to encrypt
the data.
