My Toshiba PDRM81 digital camera, stolen for the second time
in a year (the first time was at my brothers wedding October in SLC,
last weekend at Pangea in New York City - both times, they left my
analog camera which it was touching) had a BoomerangIt sticker
affixed (which is a service that puts a camera finder or stealer in
contact with the owner).
Does anyone have any experience with these folks? Any stats
or stories, good, bad, or otherwise?
They offer a reward for for the camera finder, but their reward
amounts to (get this) luggage tags. As I understand it, their
business model consists of printing up tags and charging
owners for the tags (which have a certain lifetime) and maintaining
a database of active tags. Seems like the ideal low overhead
business.
Older but evidently not much wiser,
