My company has several "remote" employees, as well as on-call staff,
who must access very sensitive client data, and who could gain access
to restricted crypto data. We have also had one or more laptops
stolen from inattentive staff at public places like airports. Having
sensitive data on that laptop could compromise both the client and our
ability to continue to do business.

To prevent loss or comprimise of sensitive data, we use a software
solution that is similar in function to a KVM switch. The remote PC
contains no business-related data or applications and only serves as
keyboard and mouse input and video output while the local servers
actually run the user session, all applications and store all data.
All employees are invited and encouraged to store any personal
information they desire on our servers, preferably in encrypted form,
and our servers are backed up daily.
