Both AdAware and Spybot let you choose what to disable, and both
provide a backup tool so you can easily reactivate anything you
accidentally disable.

I believe you can also indicate which parasites (like Kazaa) you wish
AdAware or Spybot to ignore.

Remember, though, that Kazaa reportedly may bundle additional
parasites that you may or may not be able to disable successfully.
