Reza,

        Yes there could be some risks associated with such an undertaking
most notably a race condition when data is recieved from both the rs-232
port and the parallell port. Due to faster speed from the parallel port
this type of race condition would be more seemlessly attacked from the
workstation connected to it. My advice to you would be to include a
security device that can interrupt voltage and amperage to the printer in
a binary fashion (on/off) in some sort of a device that could be toggeled
to two different positions (if anyone on the list knows of such a device
by all means, chime in). Hope that helps.
