What plattform you wanna boot up from flash/USB/thumb drive?

If you want is Linux, try to make a minimum system with daemons for target file system.
And that is, you should install OS using co-Linux or some other various virtual plattforms.
By VM, Installation can do format flash/USB/thumb drive as hda.
