He just asked how to make it less complex and you heaped on layers of complexity. Perhaps they don't want to add thre or 4 management servers to their already convoluted security scheme. I agree with previous posters, first ask him to clarify what gains he seeks to achieve. Perhaps adding some of these specialized management servers would simplify things from the VP's point of view, or perhaps not. There are multiple service providers that will assist in managing security. This would simplify, but add an expense. Every possible issue has 10 different vendors scrambling to provide their own highly niche specific offering. Only by assessing your self-assessing your risks, your asset exposure/value, and critically examining your current security posture can you make a reasonable attempt at "simplifying"
