About CEH v.5, all i can say is except a lot of "self study" added, there is nothing much improved in it. What have they really done? You expect a candidate to learn all that in 5 days? Also, if you are aware of a lesser known certification H3X from a body called 'orchidseven', i feel, most of CEH is flicked from it. Moreover, it takes a LAB exam to clear the H3X certification and feel its more better (my personal opinion only).
As far as industry is concerned, CEH is viewed as a course of 'script kiddies'. Every other kid who knows how to run Nessus claims to be a 'pen tester' and ethical hacker. If you just want another tag, clear it by reading dumps available from actualtests.com... but if you want to "stay" in job, you have to do it hands-on on your own.
