Makes me think Grid computing... Globus network, world grid. If we are
all installed on a grid and have the software 'owned' by the grid we can
have disk less workstations just login to the grid and you are good to
go no worries! But then again who owns your data and who has access to
all your information? Unless the grid is designed with FLAWLESS
security potentially anybody on the grid would have access to your data
then.
There is good and bad in auto updates. I would rather be prompted to
the fact that updates are available and asked if I want to update them.
