    As of now, Check Point's official stance is that all existing Check
    Point and Sourcefire products will be supported after the acquisition
    is complete, including Snort. They also have stated that they "remain
    committed to the open-source community". They have not told us
    employees anything different and it is very unlikely that any
    information regarding any actions will be released prior to the
    closure of the deal in Q1 2006. The company website that will
    distribute all information regarding the acquisition is at
    www.checkpoint.com/sourcefire.

    I should point out that after our Zone Labs purchase, we did keep the
    free version of ZoneAlarm updated and available so there is some
    precedent to reinforce the earlier statements.
