Keyloggers are very easy to code in a matter of minutes, and most of these home made keyloggers will not set off any alarms on most antivirus packages as they are usually signature based. Spyware applications seem to have a better catch rate but they are still not %100.

It seems there's a trend about antivirus software detect and remove
keyloggers and spywares. Actually, I think antispy programs can do this job
    more effectively.
