This link from the above page (http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/
) did the trick numerous times with NT4 - a linux based floppy that
mounts the hard drive, and by allows you to edit the local password
database. Used on NT4 several times, once (IIRC) on W2K. It failed me
once; a client had a NT4 server with an odd SCSI hard drive and the
disk wouldn't mount it.
