Just remember, when using poledit.exe, the System Policy MUST be created
on the OS in which you want to run policy settings. In other words, if
you want to run policies on a 98 station, run the poledit program on a
98 station. This necessity is because of the differences in registry
settings affected by group policies. See this link for a good
description of system policies in 98.

    http://www.lubbock.k12.tx.us/SystemPolicies/Ch8_System_Policies.htm

Also, I believe that this functionality extends to 98 only.

Once you create a POL file you place it in the NETLOGON folder of the
domain controller, as stated below. 98 logins will access this file for
    the policies. Hope this helps.

Poledit.exe. Lets you lock down whatever you want. If you have NT / 2K/
2K3 servers you can even put it in the netlogon folder and it will be
the default for all machines connecting to the network.

    Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a software that you can install on
MS Windows 95/98/Me Machines that won't
allow an ordinary user to install any programs or
allow any virus to infect any files.
Would anybody know what they call these programs
and where to get them? Any kind of help will be
    appreciated.
    -Robert-
