Nice article in InternetWeek this week about SBC and NOT thinking about
security.
Sorry... off topic...
My 2 cents is... regardless of whether it's Cable or DSL you are wide
open to all sorts of nastiness. I know I'm echoing most of the responses
when I say without a router/firewall you are at risk regardless.

you have to look at how ISPs think about security.
Cable or xDSL are the technologies used to connect you to their
equipements... the IP you receive is given by the ISP you have choosen.
