    I use Trillian (www.trillian.cc) it does logging and also is compatible with
    all the most popular IM systems (AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, etc.). Also, you can
    encrypt conversations between Trillian users. The only downside to it that I
    have found is it is only for Windows. :-(
