    Just out of curiosity.... I've never found Snort for the Windows
    platform. Do you have a link for this?

    I've heard very good things about SNORT, and it's hard to beat free, but
    I
    haven't used it yet myself. It runs on both win and lin systems so
    compatibility shouldn't be the deciding factor.
