Swift (www.swift.com) may have usefull informations & technologies for you. They
are responsible for most worlwide interbank financial transactions. They are
deploying (or will soon deploy) an IP based network formerly called "swift next
generation" which should supercede their x25 network. Although they are using IP
technologies, it is not using any public network.
