Hello Yew,
Im presuming your server machine has a decent amount of ram and a fast CPU.
Therefore I would recommend Mcafee Virus scan and recommend you configure it
to run the different scans to scan for ALL FILES, becuase as you may be
aware we can just never be sure when a virus is going to come out on a new
platform, e.g jpeg as weve orginally seen.
I would also recommend that you dont run an email client at all on the
server e.g MS Outlook as this is the fastest way you can be exploited with a
worm. Have each network machine have a single connection to the server, with
no other connections to network systems.
Enable Mcafee Screenscan on Mcafee Virusscan and again have it scan for all
file types, along with herustics scanning.
I'm not sure if this is going to work or fit in with what you have
envisioned, but its a safe way to run a windows based network.
I hope this has helped you out some, and please don't take my word as
gospel, it's just my opinion on the matter. Let me know if you need any
further help :)
