I have loaded it on to 3 different machines. After I loaded it on one
of those machines, the machine decided to "lose" its network card,
meaning the system could not find it and it had to be re-installed...it
was a non 3-com brand that I can't remember off the top of my head. I
replaced it with a 3-com and the system named the new connection "local
area connection2". I then proceeded to hit the registry and kill all
references to the first card. All in all I spent an extra 45 minutes on
the machine. I have 3 more machines that I am doing this week.. we
shall see. The install went rather well on the other machines. I can't
say it was the SP install that killed the Nic..or if it was a
coincidence.

Subject: Win2k SP3

Today Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 was released at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/win2000platform/SP/SP3/NT5/EN-US/
w2ksp3.exe

The only Win 2k server we have is mission critical and I cannot afford
to nuke
it with a new SP.
We do not have a "test box", where I know some people who work for
larger
companies do have such a useful resource, so when you install this SP,
please let me know how it went (any issues, or does everything still run
smoothly).
I plan to patch the server next week if all goes well.
Thanks,
Russell
