What, specifically, are you looking for? Are you
looking for a freeware personal firewall?
I'd suggest this...start by shutting off all
unnecessary services. Then use tools like fport.exe
(NT/2K), 'netstat -ano (XP ONLY), or TDIMon (Win9x/ME)
to monitor which apps open which ports.
If you still feel that you need protection, check out
snort...
