The question is to you, do you use it? Finger used to be a good tool, today it leads to a security concern. If you don't use it, as with any service running, turn it off.

Subject: disabling port 79
I am contemplating to remove/disable finger or port 79 from some
workstations and/or servers. Is there any negative impact for doing it?
Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks,
