This has nothing to do with a bug AFAIK... It just puts your terminal on
Silence.... If you press Ctrl-Q than you will see that all the characther
that you typed automagically appear on your screen again.
Whenever you find that your session is not responding you can try to hit
Ctrl-Q to see if you had accidently hit Ctrl-S.....
