I tried it on a W98SE, it did slow down a bit the active desktop, the
desktop icons do take longer to load (although the system is an Athlon 650
with 512MB RAM) and Media Player 7.1 started misbehaving. All is not bad
because the cookie control feature seems worthwile for privacy enthusiasts,
Doubleclick won't have my pedigree anymore

Objet : RE: IE6 Release
Did you try installing it? I did. After doing a backup of course. Which
turned out to be a good thing, since it totally hosed my system. It
failed the first time complaining about a bad signature on a file, then
my system would freeze about 30s after logon. I had to boot into safe
mode, restore the system state backup before it all came back. I'm still
running 5.01SP2 on both my systems, and happy with it. I wouldn't run
IE6 on any system before Whistler...
