However, openssh is better (OpenBSD fan) ... :-)
Otherwise, I agree with Patrick ... vnc encapsulated within ssh is awesome.

It may not be secure and a bit slow, on its own, using ie 56k modems,
but tunneling it through ssh makes it much more secure and using the
compression options can speed it up quite a bit, as well. You just have
to forward the ports when the ssh connection is initialized, 59xx with
the standard ports and 58xx if you want to use java in a web browser. To
be on the safe side you can start a WinVNC service while logging in and
just shut it down when the session is finished. And to top it off, it
can be done all for free....
