if youre going to run W2K...
Terminal Services are better than most 3rd party tools. Its quick, reliable,
stable and "quite" safe to work with it over the internet, even a 56k Modem
has enough speed to work without major lags.
If you want to make it safer think about implementing a vpn solution to access
your Terminal Server or similar
