Help.

Need help in establishing a career in penetration testing, intrusion
detection and analysis methodologies as well as baseline industry standard
(worldwide or highly recognized) security certification.

Can anyone help map out who I should turn to to get the above? Websites,
forums, conferences, training, etc that will give me a heads-up would be
much appreciated. For example, what is the industry standard and recognized
certification in each category?

At the moment, all I see are a plethora of organizations who are only to
happy to run customised conferences and training, such as Blackhat, etc.
