RE: NT "net use" Malfunctions

I completely disagree with this.

Using the /user command allows you to assign the credentials of another user
when mapping drives. This is how you would map administration (c$) shares
without logging in as Admin. This is something that many admins, such as
myself use everyday.

I HAVE seen this problem however when trying to connect to MMC on a remote
2000 machine.. This generally occurs when I type the password incorrectly.
The only way I have seen to resolve this is to reboot. Any other easier
solutions?

You can't map drives using DIFFERENT credentials to the SAME server.
i.e. you have ANOTHER drive mapped using credentials different from
'otherusername' to 'otherhostname'.

Subject: NT "net use" Malfunctions

Hi,

Upon hitting the following command :
" Net use z: \\otherhostname\resourcename$ * /user:otherusername "
I only get: " System error 1219 has occured. The credentials supplied
conflict
with an existing set of credentials. "
My whole net exists of NT4.0 . I try to login as one user and assign
myself another user's resource,
using the right password. any suggestion ?

thx
centipede
