Re: Uninstall Outlook?

From the MS side,
I would first suggest search.microsoft.com for "remove outlook
express"...many articles listed, including the following paragraph from
Q256219-

 SUMMARY

This article describes how to manually uninstall and reinstall Outlook
Express. Because Outlook Express is considered a component of Microsoft
Internet Explorer, you should first try to uninstall Outlook Express by
using the procedures that are described in the following Microsoft
 Knowledge Base articles.

IMPORTANT: Uninstalling Outlook Express can be a complicated procedure
that involves deleting and renaming files, and editing the Microsoft
Windows registry. For these reasons, please do not try the steps that are
described in this article if you have not already tried the methods that
are described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:

From a security Standpoint,
Are you just trying to remove any unused apps to remove the security
overhead associated with them? Good idea. Honestly, I have never looked to
see if you can choose not to install outlook express during Int Explorer.
What do you want to keep people from running OE for? Policies could do
this, but I am not sure if you would gave *THAT* much...I could be
wrong...More info would be useful.

HTH

Pat

Hi all,

for security reasons i'd like to uninstall MS Outlook Express on Windows
2000 Pro machines, or at least deny to start the program for domain users.
Is there a way?

bye, Carsten.
