Fink (a dpkg software installation system) for OS X has an Intel OS X
binary package for nmap. I could put the stand-alone binary out
there. The only non-standard library dependency is libpcap. I
strongly recommend Fink for any geeky OS X users, though. It has many
other useful tools, and comes with FinkCommander, a GUI installer and
package browser. If you have the developer tools installed, it can
also compile the packages from source.

While we are on the subject, does anyone know or have a MacOS X 10.4 pkg
for nmap (Intel compatible)?
The XNmap (homepage.mac.com/natritmeyer/ ) includes an installer for
nmap for the PPC. I can find discussions about compiling nmap but this
requires the Apple Developer Tools system. Not a show stopper, but not
exactly convenient either.
